Gopal M Seetharaman: Our product Mpulse helps brands collect the feedback at the point of experience, with just the click of a smiley

Tell us about yourself?

Born and brought up in Chennai, I did my schooling and then my college Bachelors Degree in Science. Then I did my Masters in Management after which I underwent around 12 years of corporate experience. My stint at brands like Times of India, Escorts and Vodafone taught me a lot about business processes. Then I had quit my corporate career to start this business about 10 years back. I am a strong believer of Karma. And a fan of James Allen books. His book ‘ As a man thinketh’ had been a guiding light in my personal life and career.

Tell us what problem your company solves?

Customers hate surveys. But brands insist on collecting feedback from their customers at every touch point. Our product Mpulse helps brands collect the feedback at the point of experience, with just the click of a smiley.

Where do you see your startup going in the next 3 years?

We see ourselves becoming the No.1 provider of smiley feedback terminals in India. Followed by expanding our presence in all the major markets across the globe.

What makes your company positioned to deliver on their promises?

We have spent enough time on building a robust product and our early market experience had given us great insights on what features are important for the customers. We had ensured to build these features into the core of our product. This will help us deliver to the needs of the market.

Who is your founding team? Why are they the best people to run this company?

This is a single founder company. But my core team of engineers who are the brains behind the product are well set to deliver fast and also build quick prototypes based on customer’s unique needs. And I have seen the passion in their eyes when they talk about the product.

Who are your main competitors, and why can you beat them?

In the Indian market, we are the exclusive players in this domain. For the next 2-3 years I don’t think there is any competition in India. In few other countries, we have noticed similar products. But the world is a pretty large place to handles 100s of players like us.

Why are you raising financing?

This product is kept at customer facing places at our client premises. Hence, it has to be aesthetically appealing. Though we had done our best to develop nice designs, we require funds to hire some good designers to build a better looking product. Second reason is that, Since we are in retail space, the product has to be shipped on the same day when the order is placed. So we need to maintain stock, for which funds are required.
