Ayush Rajnish Gupta of Edrafter Legal Solutions Private Limited.
Tell us about yourself?
I am a 24 year old tech entrepreneur from a very non-techy academic background
. I co-founded edrafter.in in 2016 which created a whole new revolution by digitizing the offline driven legal documentation market.
I have immense love for ideas and innovation and in my free time I just love to write and enjoy life as it is.
What lessons has being an entrepreneur taught you?
Many lessons have been taught but I am going to quote a few, one is never be limited by other people’s limited imagination, just believe and you will create wonders.
If you could go back in time to when you first started your business, what piece of advice would you give yourself?
Well I would just ask my little self that please stress a little less because anyways you are going to make it.
A lot of entrepreneurs find it difficult to balance their work and personal lives. How have you found that?
My journey was started with my family only, me and my sister founded eDrafter.in with the help of my father’s experience. So every working hour was also a family hour.
But still everyone should make a deadline when they just put there laptop aside and spend time on things that actually matter because there’s no value of success if we don’t have someone to celebrate with.
Give us a bit of an insight into the influences behind the company?
My dad Mr. Rajnish Gupta was a stamp vendor of Delhi state and he was doing the business completely offline and from that we got the idea of taking this business online.
What do you think is your magic sauce? What sets you apart from the competitors?
Our magic sauce is the first mover advantage we made to digitize the stamp paper market.
We created the monopoly and also our emphasis on customer satisfaction and operations sets us apart from our competitors.
How have you found sales so far? Do you have any lessons you could pass on to other founders in the same market as you just starting out?
Our sales are mostly driven by the search partners like google and also word of mouth.
The lesson to fellow entrepreneurs is to invest in digital marketing very well and also satisfy each customer who sets there foot on the portal because word of mouth is what a real marketing is.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far in your business, and how did you overcome it?
Well the market we are in is 99% operated by offline stamp vendors who are available in every 5km radius in each state.
So convincing people to shop online and save time was our biggest challenge.
What do you consider are the main strengths of operating your business in India and the specific state you are in over other states in India?
India is probably the best place to do any sort of business because of the abundance of audience that we have.
Although internet has reached in every part of India but some states are more efficient in using them like tier-1 cities like, Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai.
What (if any) are some weaknesses of operating your business within India and your state?
We don’t see any such weakness because Indian’s are full of love and appreciation for any kind of business or product they see.
If you could operate your business in another state in India rather than the State you are in, which state would it be and why?
Well it is surely going to be Bangalore because that particular state is so techy that they have forgotten anything like offline exists.
India has an incredibly diverse population. How has the affected your consumer base and business?
Well this has only been beneficial to us. Even if we try to target 1% of the population we still see 1.3 crore customers. India is a wonderful place for business.
Infrastructure is really important to businesses. How have you seen India’s infrastructure improve recently? Do you see new opportunities opening up?
Infrastructure is so much improved in the last five years, now we have the most modern offices, co-working spaces, easy commute options and what not.
Also the Indian minds that are filled with passion, hard-work and intelligence which all together puts us neck-to-neck to any modern country.
What do you want to accomplish in the next 5 years with your business?
We wish to grow online while benefiting all the offline vendors by onboarding them online and creating a marketplace for both the customers and vendors.
Also with eDrafter, we are going to take our idea globally and expand our customer base from every part to India to every part of the world.
And finally, if people want to get involved and learn more about your business, how should they do that?
Well purchasing power is affected at the end, call it consumer, manufacturer or seller, everyone is equally effected.
